Let's Do BusinessTM

Let’s Do Business (LDB) is an interactive online digital careers programme designed to support meeting the requirements of the Government's modern work experience ambition.

The programme design, meets the equalex quality standard for experiences of the workplace with students having 

the opportunity to meet and evidence the learning outcomes across the three key themes:

  • Introducing and Inspiring

  • Investigating and Exploring

  • Apply and Demonstrate 

 

The programme:

  • Can form a key part of the careers provision

  • Introduces students to a wide range of industry sectors, job roles and real-world workplace skills. 

  • Has multiple and varied tasks are employer-led in their design

  • Allows students to explore different industries and occupations while developing and reflecting on Skills Builder Skills. 

  • Provides a multi-year, multi-experience accessible to all learners 24/7

  • Is underpinned by learning outcomes

What will students learn?

Students taking part in LDB will progressively:

  • Explore different industries and career pathways

  • Learn about real job roles and workplace environments

  • Develop Skills Builder employability skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving

  • Complete employer-led work experience tasks linked to industry scenarios

  • Build confidence and career awareness

Each sector page includes a range of engaging and informative resources to help students explore career pathways, including: Insight posters – Key information about the sector and career opportunities Sector images – Visual content to support learning and engagement Labour Market Information (LMI) – Up-to-date data on jobs, salaries and demand Core industries – An overview of the main industries and roles within each sector

Additional resources to support career learning and employability development, including: Career guidance materials Workplace skills support tools Further learning and progression information

Students can learn directly from employers through: Employer videos – Real workplace insight and career stories Interactive tasks – Practical activities linked to real job roles and industry scenarios

Reflective Journal

To support reflection and skills development, LDB also includes: Reflective Journal – Helps students record activities completed, reflect on skills developed and set future goals Skills Builder Information Sheet – Covers key employability skills including Listening, Speaking, Problem Solving, Creativity, Adapting, Planning, Leadership and Teamwork Sentence Starter Help Sheet – Provides prompts to help students write reflections and describe learning and skills used
