Alternative Learning Provision and Work-Related Learning

We offer a range of programmes for learners who are disengaged from the main curriculum and may be at risk of becoming NEET.  Some courses may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding.​

 

Toolkit For Life Programme - Personal and Social Development for learners in Years 8-11

This programme develops learners’ confidence and self-esteem in a highly supportive environment, encouraging them to keep learning to progress and achieve their goals. There are 8 one-day sessions to choose from set in different vocational contexts: Business Administration; Building Services; Catering; Digital Media; Games Design; Hairdressing; Interior Design; Manufacturing. 


There is an option for learners to work towards or complete, units of the following NCFE Qualifications in Personal and Social Development - Entry Award, L1 Award, Entry L2 Certificate, Entry L3 Certificate or L1 Certificate.

 

 

 Helping You Get The Job You Want Programme - Employability Skills for learners in Years 10-11

This programme develops the employability skills of learners preparing them for leaving full-time education and/or engaging in further training and/or employment. There is an option for learners to work towards or complete NCFE Qualifications in Employability Skills at Entry Award L1/L2 and L3 Certificate at L1/L2 or L3. 

 

 

 

Helping You Get The Job You Want PLUS - Employability Skills PLUS Work Experience for learners in Years 10-11

This programme supports the transition of pupils at risk of becoming NEET from compulsory education to further education and/or training and/or employment by developing employability skills and providing meaningful work experience.
There is an option for learners to work towards or complete NCFE Qualifications in Employability Skills at Entry Award L1/L2 and L3 Certificate at L1/L2 or L3. This programme also provides a placement for the learners with one of our 100+ West Midlands based employer organisations, supporting and evaluating learners progress throughout.  The course includes an employer risk assessment and safeguarding checks. 

 


 

 

 

Work Experience Tasters for Years 8-10

This programme provides personal Careers advice and guidance while learners take part in practical tasks to develop their CV and prepare for interviews. Work-tasters are provided by visits to local employers or by employers visiting the programme. 

 

 

Work Experience for learners in Years 10-11

This programme provides a placement for the learners with one of our 100+ West Midlands based employer organisations, supporting and evaluating learners progress throughout.  The course includes an employer risk assessment and safeguarding checks.
